We all have our indulgences. For me, it’s an occasional cappuccino—none of the double macchiato, grande, extra whip stuff, though. And I do like a real nice pen. In stressful times, we all need an occasional indulgence.
So I was happy that Felicia Sullivan reported in the Huffington Post yesterday that Oraser Microderm Hand Renewal was one of her top 10 Beauty Indulgences. Here’s what she said:
ZO Skin Health Oraser Microderm Hand Renewal (1oz $50): With regard to a beauty indulgence, I never gave my hands much thought as I considered them solely practical tools meant to complete daily tasks. However, as I grow older I’ve come to respect the most important and most overlooked part of my skin care regimen. Coupled with a recent plague of dry, cracked hands, I turned to the crown jewel of hand exfoliants. Formulated with retinol, shea butter and sugar crystals, a quickly daily exfoliating routine will gently scrub away rough, dull skin and keep your hands feeling ultra-rich. It also minimized the appearance of scratches (courtesy of my ferocious feline) and sloughed away and softened skin that had been peeling.

The Microderm Hand Renewal is one of the few products that is both nice and necessary. Now that I admitted to my indulgences, I’m curious—what do you like to splurge on for your mental and physical health?

Several years ago I learned to pop open a bottle of champagne on a Thursday evening with my husband, for absolutely no special reason. I used to save a bottle of champagne for something special–and well, nothing special ever happened. I don’t know what I was waiting for anyhow. How long can a bottle of champagne last, standing next to a carton of Tropicana and a jug of 2% milk?
So now I celebrate that we still have a good marriage, a fine family and many blessings–that’s a great reason to celebrate.
My favorite indulgence: a glass of chilled champagne in a crystal flute.
An indulgence: A gooey cheeseburger from my workplace (a museum) cafeteria and a Dr. Pepper. I generally watch what I eat, what I spend and always pack my own lunch. Every month or so though, I get a craving for a straight-off-the-grill cheeseburger dripping with house sauce and ketchup to be devoured alone while reading the paper. It’s delicious and utterly indulgent.
That makes me sooooo hungry!!! There’s nothing better than a burger! I’m always on a diet, so I never allow myself to have a burger. That’s probably why my diet is never successful–I don’t allow myself to have little indulgences.
OK, so I can rationalize that I really SHOULD eat a burger!
